چکیده

In this work we present a modular and demand-driven analysis of the semantic difference between program versions. Our analysis characterizes initial states for which final states in the program versions differ. It also characterizes states for which the final states are identical. Such characterizations are useful for regression verification, for revealing security vulnerabilities and for identifying changes in the program’s functionality. Syntactic changes in program versions are often small and local and may apply to procedures that are deep in the call graph. Our approach analyses only those parts of the programs that are affected by the changes. Moreover, the analysis is modular, processing a single pair of procedures at a time. Called procedures are not inlined. Rather, their previously computed summaries and difference summaries are used. For efficiency, procedure summaries and difference summaries can be abstracted and may be refined on demand. We have compared our method to well established tools and observed speedups of one order of magnitude and more. Furthermore, in many cases our tool proves equivalence or finds differences while the others fail to do so.

Does Participation in Farmer Field School Extension Program Improve Crop Yields? Evidence from Smallholder Tea Production Systems in Kenya

Agricultural Extension services are among the most important rural services in developing countries. The services are considered to be a key driver of technological change and productivity growth in agriculture. In Kenya, like in the rest of the developing economies, agricultural extension has largely been delivered through supply–driven approaches. Due to perceived low impact of agricultural e...

Sensitivity Analysis of Technology Changes for EnergyDemand by Iranian Economic Sectors: an Application of Sherman-Morrisson Method and Input-Output Approach

We undertook a sensitivity analysis of the key demand factors leading to changes of energy consumption in the competitive market, using a Leontief demand-driven approach. We applied the Leontief model to previous research results to study the most sensitive factors leading to the change of energy demand in different economic sectors. Based on the 2011 Iranian symmetrical input–output table, the...

Towards intelligent VR - multi-layered semantic reflection for intelligent virtual environments

This paper introduces semantic reflection, a novel concept for a modular design of intelligent applications. SCIVE, a simulation core for intelligent Virtual Environments (IVEs), provides semantic reflection on multiple layers: SCIVE’s architecture grants semantic driven uniform access to low-level simulation core logic, to specific simulation modules’ application definitions, as well as to hig...
